We are happy to announce that KWL continue to achieve the Green Level Award through the Investors in the Environment (iie) accreditation scheme by implementing an environmental management system
There are three levels of accreditation, with the Green Award being the most challenging.
The Green level accreditation consists of a wide range of criteria being met, which demonstrate a sustained commitment and systematic approach to reducing the environmental impacts of our organisation. This included demonstrating a minimum 2% improvement in resource efficiency over agreed baseline figures for key resources used, such as gas, electric and water.
In addition, the Green level requires other essential criteria to be met- including having a recycling system in place, adopting a travel plan, and measuring the carbon footprint.
By qualifying for the highest level Green award KWL are classed as a green leader and help to set the standard for the environment amongst businesses
KWL achieved a 95% overall success rate, which is an excellent achievement. All areas achieved above 85% with Section(s) Evidence and Monitoring, achieving the highest at 100 and 98%.
As our ongoing commitment to the environment, KWL will continue to strive to introduce new initiatives and thoroughly monitor our performance against challenging targets to improve our environmental management system.
In recognition of our success Becky Taylor, of Investors in the Environment writes: - “Kingstown Works Ltd has developed a very good and well managed environmental management system that has been integrated well within the organisation. The Green Champions demonstrated good knowledge of the companies’ performance and how this impacts on the environmental performance. Kingstown Works Ltd has demonstrated awareness of their own environmental impact, but also of improving the impact the organisation has to the larger environment – particularly the tenants/clients serviced and managed by the organisation.
Congratulations to Kingstown Works Ltd for achieving your Green Level accreditation”.
